Ascension: Classic Yes Tribute Tribute Band from Tampa, FL

Ascension: Classic Yes is based out of Tampa, FL. A five man musical unit that recreates and captures the spirit, sound and innovation that is the live YES experience. The band plays selections from the Classic Yes period of 1971 - 1980. Songs from albums such as Fragile, Close to the Edge, Drama, Tales From Topographic Oceans are performed with the same passion and energy as that of YES at the height of their power in the 1970s. The band also throws in some forgotten classics from Yes' earlier records: "Yes" and "Time and a Word" for a good measure as well as their 1983 hit "Owner Of a Lonely Heart!" While the attention to details lies heavily in the music; it is also focused on the use of visual presentation and vintage/replica instruments & stage equipments. From the majestic tribute video intro of Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite" to the vintage stage clothes and the use of Gibson ES-175, moog synthesisers, Rickenbacker bass and Ludwig drums; Ascension brings back memories of a YES of YESTERDAYS which has to be seen & heard to be believed! From the angelic vocal styles of Jon Anderson to the eclectic but yet delicate guitar and keyboard wizardry of Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman combined with the intricate bass and percussion work of Chris Squire, Bill Bruford and Alan White.
