A bluegrass band for all occasions. The James Bruce Bluegrass Band plays a huge repertoire of traditional bluegrass, fiddle tunes, originals, and the occasional rock and roll or punk rock cover. This diverse repertoire of music enables us to excel in just about any type of performance situation. For the past 10+ years I've played in and led bands in the Northwest, played hundreds of shows in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho area, been a private instructor, as well as hosted numerous bluegrass jams. In addition to recording and performing with the James Bruce Bluegrass Band, I've performed and recorded with Sweet Lou's Sour Mash, Dysfunction Junction, The Mighty Dreadful, Vito and the One Eyed Jacks, and The Powell Mountain Boys. I've played dive bars, corporate events, weddings, festivals, private parties, packed clubs, harvest celebrations, and enjoyed them all. Recently relocated to the Pittsburgh area from Seattle. Jimmy and Sweet Lou's Sour Mash came to play for our 3rd Annual Farmers Market at a community club house and the members thoroughly enjoyed it! They were professional, friendly, and entertaining! It was the perfect style for our event and we got lots of positive feedback from the guests. We would absolutely recommend them for others' events as well as have them back at our venue!
