Tim and Cindy Bluegrass Band from Pequot Lakes, MN

Tim and Cindy Roggenkamp have been entertaining audiences throughout Minnesota and surrounding states and Canada for over 30 years, performing traditional country, bluegrass and gospel music. They are members of the Minnesota Rock and Country Hall of Fame, they have recorded several CD's and have made many television and radio appearances. They are also well known in bluegrass circles for founding the Lakes Bluegrass Festival in Pine River, MN. Today, they focus on adding their unique touch to the early traditions of country, gospel and bluegrass music. Tim and Cindy perform a variety of styles from slow ballads to fast instrumentals, and on various instruments including guitar, bass, banjo, fiddle, dobro, dulcimer and mandolin. Performing either as a duo or with a full band, they enjoy preserving authentic American music with their own distinct sound. Tim and Cindy's harmony singing is reminiscent of some of the early brother duets in country and bluegrass music and, in fact, they have drawn much of their material from groups such as The Louvin Brothers, The Stanley Brothers and Jim and Jesse. Tim Roggenkamp is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. He is best known for his hard-driving banjo playing, but is also accomplished on lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin, fiddle and bass and has recently taken up the dobro as well. Tim released a solo CD entitled, “Northern Lights”, which received a very favorable first-page review in the nationally published Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, as well as great reviews in regional magazines. . The CD, including several original songs, received national and international airplay and was distributed nationally on “Prime Cuts of Bluegrass.' Cindy Roggenkamp plays standup bass and rhythm guitar and sings heart-warming and honest vocal leads and harmonies. She also performs most of the emcee duties and has a great way of connecting with the audience and keeping the show moving. Tim and Cindy have recorded with several bands, starting with their first vinyl album in 1978 entitled “Where I'm Bound”. They have also recorded projects with their band, “The Lonesome Tradition”, and with “The Platte Valley Boys”, as well as Tim's solo CD. They recently released their first duet recording simply titled “Country and Bluegrass Favorites” and recently released their first all gospel project.
