The Blue Stars Orchestra is an 11 piece big band with female vocalist Karen Abernathy and
Robin Noel: male vocalist is Al Palozzi. The band was organized in 1990 and has a history of
playing for Gulf Coast Carnival Associations, Ballroom Dance groups in Metairie and
Biloxi, along with National competition in New Orleans, for numerous celebrations,
Corporate events. One New Years' Eve at the dock and more recently for Amour Danzer (a
ballroom dance group.)
The group has four Saxes, two Trumpets', two Trombones and full rhythm (bass, piano, drums).
The Blue Stars Orchestra play a variety of songs: some big band, old standards along with
more modern tunes. The Band also has many special numbers focusing on Christmas, Mardi
Gras, St. Patrick's Day, Irish & Italian celebrations, Halloween, Octoberfest and Patriotic
Songs. There is a large number of special numbers to select from. Weddings include three (3)
songs for the bride & groom, mother & son, and father & daughter (at no extra charge).
